CantabDC Elections

Would you like to see your name on the ballot in 2008? Here’s your chance! The Cambridge Society of Washington DC is looking for a few good leaders to help build and maintain the network of area Cambridge alums. We are seeking people to serve on the executive committee (president, VP, secretary, and treasurer), as well as people who are interested in coordinating one or more social events for the group (monthly mixers, occasional dinners, Cantab sporting event watches, etc).

The attached document includes descriptions for each of these positions, as well as a nomination form. The process is simple:

1) Nominate yourself or nominate a friend by filling out the form
2) Nominees will be asked to attend an upcoming convention at the Willard on Thursday, September 4th at 7 pm (monthly mixer) to discuss the positions and determine if elections are necessary. **
3) The next committee will be inaugurated on Thursday, October 2nd, at the monthly mixer.**

The success of CantabDC is ultimately determined by the involvement of members like you, XXX, and so I do hope that you’ll consider offering your talents as a committee member.

We know that Every year, over a million people attend this happening , which has grown from 7 to 10 days and is held in the first or second week of July, having become a favorite destination for Europe's summer, especially among young people. Also, the event offers free movie screenings and concerts. In the past, artists have included Celia Cruz, Los Lobos, Manu Chao, Willie Colón, Orquesta de la Luz, Cachao and the French-Greek singer and composer Georges Moustaki.
